Bugs or Monsters

Those of you who knew I was doing a detox to help with my sleep...here is the outcome.

NO SLEEP!

But not because of the detox. My poor little Bubba has been having nightmares. About 7 times a night he is waking up crying or screaming, talking about the bugs or monsters that are getting him. He is terrified, I am tired, and we are all cranky.

It is so sad to hear his little scare voice. We have been really careful about what he is watching, reading and observing. We have been praying over him and his room every night. We talk to him about how he is safe here with mommy and daddy. We look every night, for bugs and monsters in the room.

And still, come 10:30pm, his first wake-up scream comes.

It just breaks my heart.

Poor guy fell asleep in the car at 11:00 yesterday, he was so tired.

S.O.S- Any suggestions from you parents out there?

kendra did he exact same thing.. no monsters just bugs though... i went and bought a brand new fly swatter wrapped it in girly ribbons and told her to kill any bad bugs and let her take it to bed with her... (with aidan i gave hm a squirt bottle with a couple drops of fabreze told him it was monster and bad dream repellant would spray it on his bed after prayers and let him keep it) For both of them the first couple night they would still wake but i would hear them deal with it on their own then go back to bed and it stopped on its own in a matter of weeks... just an idea!

Does he sleep with a nightlight? Maybe if you take him to the store to pick out a new nightlight and say this one is special it will scare off all the bugs and monsters and have him turn it on before he goes to bed so he knows that it is on to keep the bugs and monsters away. We had to do that with Iah when he was younger. Good luck. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

this is wild but i was literally just talking to a new mama friend a week or so ago & she was having the same problems! & right around the same time.
so, here's what a doctor or somebody advised her to do & for them it worked:
wake him about an hour to an hour & a half after going to sleep. (or course, not for good, just enough that's he's semi conscious & then go back to la la land).
that's really hard. i hope it goes away soon.
